Highway 50 really is the loneliest road in America. I came across this image while going through boxes of old negatives. This was taken years ago while on a road trip from LA to Chicago. While getting fuel Dan and I noticed a road (HWY50) on a map that lead in the right direction and wasn’t too far out of our way. We decided to venture off the usual route and give it a shot. When I was paying for our fuel the gas station attendent asked where we were headed noticing the Michigan plates on the car. I told her we were headed east and plan on taking HWY50. I’ll never forget when she replied, “you better stop for gas at every station you see”. Luckily we took her advice, we surely would have run out of gas if we didn’t.
