This one was a rough one! I was booked for a two day shoot, two commercials, I told myself it was going to be a breeze, very simple. Well, I was wrong, it ended up being the most chaotic shoot I ever had... The culprit: FOOD POISONING! I woke up the day of the shoot and had to run you know where. That was in the mist of Covid paranoia, damn that's my luck. Open a Covid test, negative, great I still feel like shit though, reach out to the producer and director letting them know that I don't have covid but I am definitely in a bad spot. I meet with the producer chicagoamystewart on site, she is very nice, she is giving me the option to either go back home or try my best. I could tell in her eyes that she might prefer me to take care of myself at home. At the time I didn't have a lot of DP opportunities so I felt like I had to go for it, definitely not the wisest decision. For the first commercial, I was half of the time on the dolly, half of the time running to the bathroom. It was quite embarrassing and very difficult to focus on the job. It ended up being my worse work as DP. I had to at least save the second commercial (this one), Adrenaline and bananas/Pedyalite diet took over my brain signals to run away. It is not my finest work but I can be proud of it when looking back at the circumstances. Thanks to the crew to help me conquer this "easy peasy" commercial.
