Our latest “True Story on WhatsApp”, tells the powerful story of Layla Farah and her family. Growing up in Paterson, New Jersey, as a child of immigrants, Layla Faraj and her parents created memories every summer visiting family in Syria. But when the Syrian War broke out in 2011, everything changed. “Happiness and Love” is the story of a WhatsApp group of the same name that became “home” for Layla and her family in the disorienting aftermath of war, and the fragmented identity diaspora and displacement create. Directed by @mohammad.earth, it’s part of a global storytelling platform we’re architecting for the brand that’s focused on telling the amazing true stories of how the diasporic community use WhatsApp.
