Ⅰ _________________________________________ The Tyrolean artist Martin Walde, who lives in Vienna, has been working intensively with this “mythical creature” since 1989. Since 2006, artist Martin Walde has been creating plasma-filled glass animal objects with the Weinmayer workshop. For an editorial project, I created a 3D Hallucigenia based on Martin Walde’s artwork for the cover. The Hallucigenia played an essential role in the content and graphics of the editorial. Hallucigenia is an extinct animal species from the middle Cambrian, around 500 million years ago. These worm-like animals, which must have been between 5 and 30 mm in size, were first discovered in 1909 during excavations in the Burgess Shale/British Columbia in Canada.
