So, I was supposed to be sat in front of a screen editing a shoot yesterday, but a message from Gemma lured me along to watch her dear dad fly in a Spitfire over Leeds castle, bucket list stuff.
My expectation was that I’d get some shots of him climbing into his flight suit, buckling up in the cockpit, a few take off and landing photos, and his beaming smile at the end of all the excitement. Instead, he decided to throw his family (and lucky me!) in a chaser plane and send us up into the sky to watch it all from just a few metres away.
I’m still a bit dumfounded and frankly in absolute awe over how epic and emotional this spontaneous experience was. Thank you Gemma for trusting me to document this and a million thank yous to Martin for being so bloomin generous 🤍
