ᴍᴏʀᴏʟᴏᴊᴀ ꜰɪʟᴍ ʙʏ ᴀʟᴇxᴀɴᴅᴇʀ ɪɴɢʜᴀᴍ ʙʀᴏᴏᴋᴇ Narrative Documentary, 2011, Griko/Italian Language Shot in Martano, Salento Puglia IT [ i Moroloja Original Poster, ii Cinema Still from Stendali Archivio Pasolini] 11 years ago I had completed my first documentary on the funeral singers of Martano Southern Italy, at that young age I wanted to make a film that captured a different generations understanding of death, a generation who lived and worked on arrid landscapes with nothing, and a tribute to the films of Cecilia Mangini. Every single one of these women dedicated their lives to honouring the dead, the women are now all gone and sadly Cecilia Mangini also, She authored and directed Stendali in the 1960s the film on which Moroloja is based, passing away at the beginning of this year.
