Karōshi - Nowness
Japanese documentary film premiered in Nowness, directed by The State Of Nothing. This film opens a universal conversation about how much of our lives we owe to work. 'Karōshi' is a manifesto, an urge to reflect on how we have come to normalize such incredible work behaviors
We carefully worked on every sound to reflect the story of labor burnout in Japan. From dialogue editing and soundscape creation, to the integration of music and effects, every detail was meticulously fine-tuned. Our goal was to immerse the viewer in the atmosphere of the documentary and honor the emotional depth of its subjects and people. Most of the sounds were worked on the basis of what the directors recorded in the city itself, as we considered very important the veracity of each one of them in order to reflect what these sounds caused in the feeling and thoughts of the Japanese people.
