It is with immense joy, I present to you the Flex Chrome Cover design 2.0. This is the 2nd iteration of a leg cover I made for Isabel. For those, that have been with us from the start of this project. Know how special and meaningful it means to both of us to open up the conversation about accessible design. As a designer, to be able to intersect form, function, aesthetics and bridge the world of fashion into prosthetics will forever hold a happy place in my heart. This in a way is my love letter for the future of design, for someone who might see what other’s may deem as a ‘disadvantage’ and instead as a symbol of strength and beauty to be celebrated. Swipe right to see the world of possibilities where imagination has no bounds. 2.0 was constructed out of lamb leather, double layered with a silicone backing to be able to grip the poly carbonate and a stretch panel to fully conform to the curvature of the leg’s complexities.
