October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month
There’s so many things I want to say but it still hard for me to communicate all of it. As a brca-2+ person who took their health into their own hands and had a preventative double mastectomy under a year ago I urge all to do self checks of your breast. Be vigilant in your checks and if you feel something or something “feels” off go to your doctor and get checked.
The about of women I’ve met over the last year who are under 40 who have breast cancer is shocking and so I want to again share weekly checks in the shower is a must! And it’s never too early to start checking.
I also want to share that I am hosting my first annual Breast Cancer Charity Event at
@delamarwesthartford on 10/21/24 from 11:30-2PM and invite you all to join us to raise money to find a cure for metastatic breast cancer. The charity we will be raising these funds for is Breast Friends Fund out of Glastonbury, CT.
Tickets are on sale till 10/10/24 and we would love to raise as much money as possible for the cause. You don’t have to be in the wedding industry to attend. This is open to all.
It will be “Emily in Paris” themed and truly a special afternoon. If you can’t make it please consider donating to
@sandy_cassa to help find a cure. Tickets can be purchased by clicking the link in our bio.
And lastly if you’re someone with the gene or going through the process of possibly having a double mastectomy please know you’re not alone and that I as well as others here in CT are here to support you and help you in your process.
Let’s kick breast cancers ass this month by raising as much money as possible to find a cure.
Xoxo,
Lisa
