Okay, this is personal for me and one of them full circle moments, I remember buying the DVD off Mochilla in 2010 when Suite For Ma Dukes dropped, I was then introduced to @miguelatwoodferguson and his work, which blew my mind. Prior to SFMD, I’d never heard anyone present this type of music with an orchestra the correct way. I mean, he nailed this music and really did Dilla justice. Anyways, I just want to say my heart is filled with so much gratitude to be given the opportunity to play Dilla’s music, I certainly didn’t see this coming and to do it with the @metropoleorkest , I can’t tell you how many times I’ve watched The Yellowjackets at North Sea Jazz conducted by Vince Mendoza. Alright, I’m rambling at this point, just letting yall know I’m sooo grateful 🫡 Sidenote: Ask any one of my Day 1s and they’ll tell you I was obsessed with that damn DVD when it dropped. 😂😂
