first installation piece, a nostalgic tribute
with @evanellyaguilar @__espinas , thank you for being down with this idea, both such talented and inspiring individuals⭐️& thank u @westadamsddlm for providing such a meaningful space where so many can connect and reflect and celebrate,❀️

this concept was rooted in the comfort of my childhood bedroom where I first started playing with hair. Both a celebration and a reflection; exploring the emotions tied to growing up. The space itself holds fragments of my past, the essence of those early years, a time of discovery, creativity, & joy.
This piece is a form of coming to terms with the past & the now, accepting that while these times are over, the love will never fade. In a way we mourn what’s gone, but we can also celebrate what it gave us. I wanted this work to be a space where others could reflect on their own memories and find comfort in knowing that although we/circumstances change, our connections to the past/to each other remain with us forever

❀️this song will always remind me of the times my grandpa would pick me up from elementary school cussing people out road raging & zooming his β€˜89 cowhide 4runner stick shift machine down the whitest suburban neighborhoods❀️rest easy
