A new LEMAIRE space, designed by artist and architect Lukas Gschwandtner, a long-time LEMAIRE collaborator, has arrived at Dover Street Market.
The structure features a hand-stained steel frame supporting canvas pieces. “The origin of my collaboration lies in a shared obsession with draping,” Gschwandtner explains. “For Dover Street Market, I applied references of changing room drapes, but stretched, curved, and pressed.”
Described as a traveling pavilion, the installation is designed to be reassembled and deconstructed. “I welded it when I was living in London. From there it travelled to Brussels, Vienna, Beijing, Paris, and now returns home to London.”
