An authentic Stargazy Pie, made on request by the extraordinary
@chef_josh_edmond_ during a power cut yesterday at the
@the_pig_hotels in Combe, Devon. It was first made in the 16th C. after Cornish fisherman Tom Bawcock sailed out in terrible storms and secured a huge catch, saving his village of Mousehole from starvation. Now every year they parade one through the village in his honour before tucking in.
Josh’s serving of history was sensational, and I’ll never have a pie as fine. Today though I am confined to bed from sheer heft - I have eaten and drunk enough to save a Cornish village. Thank you Josh and all the Piggies for your generosity, we love you very much 🐟 🥧 ❤️
