But, at the height of the game’s popularity, the real person she was based on—a Haitian woman named Renée L'Espérance—suddenly vanished.⁠ ⁠ In Seeking Mavis Beacon, filmmaker @jazminrjones partners with memory artist Olivia McKayla Ross with the goal of locating L'Espérance and celebrating her pioneering legacy.
