DAY 3/5: POPPY SOMA Extrait de parfum Day 3 as artists-in-residence at the Corning Museum of Glass last week saw our glass-blowing master Catherine Ayers creating the fantasy perfume bottle design for our Fragrance Foundation award-winning Poppy Soma, a narcotic extrait de parfum that pays homage to the potency of the “soma” or nectar contained within the seedpod, and the basis for opium. The surrealistic fantasy bottle design features a realistic red Poppy flower perched on top of its own seed pod, a botanical before-and-after, with the flower serving as dip wand and seed pod as base. The white milky drops are renderings of the “soma” the seed nectar that is collected and refined into opium. Assisted by Chris Rochelle and Helen Tegeler. We are so grateful to have been invited by the Corning Museum of Glass to be their official artists-in-residence last week where we got the chance to create four fully-functioning fantasy perfume bottles for Wolfsbane, Poppy Soma, Hemlock, and Bloodflower, perfumes from our award-winning collection of fragrances inspired by poisonous flora, Les Potions Fatales, with the talented hot glass team of Catherine Ayers, Chris Rochelle, and Helen Tegeler. What an absolutely inspiring experience through and through and we couldn’t be more pleased with the results!  Tomorrow we’ll showcase the fantasy bottle for Hemlock eau de toilette followed by Bloodflower eau de parfum this Friday. #parfumsquartana #lespotionsfatales #poppysoma #perfumeextraordinaire #perfumebottle #corningmuseumofglass #artistinresidence #josephquartana #catherineayers
