In this upcoming *extra* special edition of #LARBRadioHour, we're bringing the episode to you: we're hosting a live Radio Hour.
Join us on January 11 in Pacific Palisades alongside hosts Eric Newman, Kate Wolf, and Medaya Ocher. They'll be joined by journalists Leslie Berestein Rojas and Oscar Garza to discuss the objectivity of media outlets, rise of right-wing politics, the future of newspapers and magazines, and the integrity of journalism when faced with corporatization, and ultimately address the question: is the media alright?

We're starting to close out 2024, and as we look ahead to 2025, we have at least one big assignment remaining: to meet a generous matching grant challenge made by an anonymous donor. Every gift we receive between now and December 31 will be doubled up to $100,000. Reaching $200,000 would go an incredibly long way to support our staff and operations as a small nonprofit organization.
We need your support to continue the work that you—and millions of global readers, local community members, and workshop students and alumni—rely on. Please give today at our #linkinprofile.

The year is winding down, and the holidays are ramping up. If you need a little help brainstorming what to get for your loved ones (or yourself), you’re in luck: the LARB gift guide is here. You can get any or all of our gifts by donating instead of buying; it’s like a typical gift guide but better—it’s tax-deductible. More at our #linkinprofile.

On this week's #LARBRadioHour, Medaya Ocher and Kate Wolf are joined by writer Kathryn Davis. Davis discusses her novel "Versailles", originally published in 2002, recently reissued by @graywolfpress. "Versailles" is the story of Marie Antoinette, beginning when she’s a teenager traveling to France. The book is a lyrical meditation on personhood and girlhood, amidst the objects and structures of power, politics and history.
