Orchid Island is the name of one of the places that we see in my latest film. It’s a kind of strange balance between beauty and virgin nature.
For me, titles are actually part of the work. They are mixing poetry, sounds, phonetics, and concepts. Orchid Island is reminiscent of the first sketches of colonial Western exploration and the idealization of nature. Today, it is also a place where radioactive waste is deposited.

My projects often evoke invisible stories made visible by the creation of strange phenomena.
You can see this in my film Orchid Island with the curtain of particles emanating from the rectangle, but also in paintings that share the same paradoxical, antinomic register.

Time has always been a central theme in my work, a constant source of reflection and exploration. It is with great pleasure that I finally present this limited edition watch, created in collaboration with Bvlgari and designer Fabrizio Buonamassa.

For the dial, I imagined an iridescent cloud, a rare and beautiful phenomenon resulting from the diffraction of light by tiny ice crystals suspended in the atmosphere. Screen-printed with colored pigments on a monochrome surface, this cloud is a motif I’ve been exploring for a long time, notably in my exhibition Cloud Theory. The cloud is not only a symbol of nature’s ephemeral beauty, but also a reminder of the subtle interplay between light, time and perception - a delicate balance that echoes the changing rhythms of our environment, where the cloud becomes a crucial and precious part of our equilibrium.

Directly inspired by the LIDAR scanners I used in my film ARTIFICIALIS, this series of flowers entitled Future Herbarium is executed on palladium. The reflections produced by the metallized leaves induce a positive and negative effect, depending on the angle chosen to observe these paintings.

There are still a few weeks left to see them at Sean Kelly, New York.

These lithographs from the Future Herbarium series are created in the style of botanical plates, while cataloguing the imaginary mutations of a surreal future world. The combination of color and a thin layer of silver ink transforms the lithographs into futuristic projections.

Lithographies on Fine Art paper
4 colors (including silver)
41,5 x 30,5 cm (paper)
Edition of 60 (each)
Signed and numbered

My film ARTIFICIALIS deals with the metamorphosis of the world and the tools we have to represent it. I used LIDAR scanners, which today allow us to immerse ourselves in layers of reality we did not previously have access.

For this work, I was inspired by the gas emanations that can sometimes emerge from the earth and burst into flames, creating what are known as eternal fields of flame. In these times of intense doubt, I wanted to raise some impossible points of light.

Today the world is “derealizing” itself, detaching itself from reality. I have tried to capture moments when we no longer know where we stand, between the artificial and the natural.

I am pleased to announce my exhibition at @seankellygallery tomorrow, where I will be presenting the film ARTIFICIALIS, created a few years ago. This work delves into our post-Anthropocene world, which follows the tipping point where the changes imposed by human beings on nature can no longer be repaired, and which shapes the mutations and profound transformations of the natural world. It shows an ambiguous, spectral territory in full mutation, where reality and virtuality overlay and where the landmarks are totally dissolved.

I would be delighted to see you this Saturday, October 26, @seankellygallery for the signing of my book ‘Time Travel’ published by Rizzoli . Designed by the graphic duo @mmparisdotcom , this monograph is the first comprehensive one of my work, featuring pieces from my earlier creations to my most recent ones. It explores key themes such as time travel, the representation of the invisible, influential objects, extraordinary phenomena, power, and the artistic installations as a ‘machine of vision’.

The signing will be preceded by a talk with Sean Kelly, the founder of the Sean Kelly Gallery.

I am delighted to announce my upcoming exhibition at the Sean Kelly Gallery in New York, where I will present my film ARTIFICIALIS for the first time in the United States, alongside new works related to this creation. Among them, this Studies into the Past draws inspiration from the American painter Frederic Edwin Church, and depicts luminous phenomena such as the torches visible in the film. This work also alludes to a fascinating natural phenomenon observed in various regions of the world: when natural gas escapes from the depths of the Earth and ignites, it creates fields of eternal flames, illuminating the landscape with a timeless light.
