Celebrating 26 in my favourite place 🥂

6 years hospital free! 4.5 years without eating disorder services 🥳🌱 In 2018 I was full of a mixture of pride at saving my own life but also complete fear as to where I was going to go next and what would happen. I had no idea what it was like to live in the world and I certainly had no idea if everything I’d challenged and learnt would be enough to survive in it. But here we are! It’s a funny day, it’s funny to look back at something that was so necessary and triggered by darkness with so much joy and to celebrate it seems strange but also so deserved. I cannot thank the NHS enough for their care, to my key nurses I still think of you daily and I hope you know I’ve kept our promise. To the people I love and who love me back, thank you. Thank you for going on this journey with me and embracing all my flaws and faults and reminding me everyday why I chose to recover. Tomorrow; we turn 26, which is perhaps why now I’m filled with fear as I’m becoming an adult fast, BUT today we’re gonna have a moment to think about how far we’ve come. And of course, a slice of cake.
