We’re helping to round out the year as a community partner with @austinfilm and the Queer Cinema: Lost & Found series to present The Rubber Gun on Monday, December 16th.
The Rubber Gun is the debut feature from future Times Square and Empire Records director Allan Moyle. In the film we see a charismatic leader of a pansexual drug commune unwittingly becoming the subject of a shy young sociology student’s thesis, also staring Scanners star Stephen Lack. The Rubber Gun is a rarely-seen classic of 70s independent queer cinema that’s been newly restored by Canadian International Pictures. A unique mix of cinéma vérité documentaries and hard-boiled crime thrillers with an earworm-filled original soundtrack by Lewis Furey.
Screening with a video introduction by Queer Cinema: Lost & Found programmer Elizabeth Purchell.
Tickets are: $13.50 + service fees, grab your tickets at agliff.org/queer-spectrum

Clean-cut Glen seemingly has everything a man could ever want. He has a good job, friends he shares certain hobbies with, and a loving fiancée. But there’s a problem: there’s another woman in Glen’s life who threatens to ruin it all…himself!
This month’s @austinfilm Queer Cinema Lost & Found series film is Glen or Glenda from director Ed Wood.
Famously made to cash in on the media circus surrounding Christine Jorgensen, GLEN OR GLENDA wound up being something else entirely — a nakedly personal plea for acceptance and a masterpiece of accidental avant-garde.
