In the last couple of years, we developed an interest in cult stories. Why do people join cults, and how do they leave? We were fortunate enough to meet people who grew up in cults. Hearing them share their experiences was incredibly eye-opening. At the same time, it helped us recognize certain dynamics that can be found even outside of cults. Narcissists exist not only in cults but also in politics and sometimes even in music. They can lie and abuse their influence for personal gain. We wanted to address that subject and spark a discussion around it. As creatives with a platform, we also hold a certain influence. The ability to tell stories and share ideas comes with a responsibility. In our opinion, being aware of how you influence people and to what degree is essential. A couple of months ago we shot the music video for ‘Catch Me’. Despite the looks, this is a rather serious topic. Today more than ever, it seems that you can make people believe what you want, bend reality for your own personal gain. We were inspired by what’s happening in the world right now as well as past cult stories. This music video might seem ‘funny’ at first, but it’s not a joke. Viewer discretion is advised. ANTAGONIST IS 1 YEAR OLD TODAY! 🖤 Looking back at all this footage made me realize what a completely insane journey it has been. Life is crazy, and none of this would exist without all of you supporting this madness. From the bottom of my heart, thank you for making this a reality. Now I’m happy to say that Antagonist’s journey is far from over, with all the remixes coming, a vinyl release, the Catch Me music video, and who knows? I may or may not have some VIPs lined up. 😈
