The ad, by agency Leo Burnett, sees singing oven gloves support family chefs as they prepare indulgent Christmas dishes. Produced by Partizan and directed by “The Greatest Showman” filmmaker Michael Gracey, the ad is set to the soundtrack of ‘You Give a Little Love’ from “Bugsy Malone,” recorded by the Morrisons staff choir. Christmas 2024 round-up — our next festive campaign is by British supermarket chain Asda, who enlisted the help of some animated gnomes to get ready for Christmas. Created by Havas London and directed by the renowned ‘King of the Super Bowl’ Bryan Buckley through Hungry Man, the process for creating the 90-second spot started way back in March. 3D character designs were conceived by Legacy Effects, which were handed over to Rascal for pre-vis, while editor Chan Hatcher and Bryan Buckley worked on storyboard edits. Then DP Hoyte Van Hoytema ASC, NSC, FSF, joined to help craft the overall look, and the team pieced together a rather elaborate plate shoot using endless garden gnomes. Created by BBH London, the ad follows Gary through his day-to-day life as the world transforms into gingerbread during the festive season. His enthusiasm for the holiday wavers with memories of his late grandmother but returns when he recreates their gingerbread house tradition with his grandfather.
