#throwbackthursday to December 2014 where Year 1+2 have a get-to-know-you workshop day and it’s left to Nigel, Paul and myself (teaching y2 at the time) to cook up some fun the night before over a drink. We decided to make a Christmas time panto for graphic designers ‘a hundred years of graphic design’. First we needed a stage which we all made from backroll holders and some staging blocks left in the banqueting hall from a fashion catwalk owned by textiles BA. Everyone had to make props and rehearse and perform in a day the whole show. A decade for the birth of Adobe, another for Gutenberg, the spinning wheel of death (macOS) - even Picasso made it in !? Each group did a skit based on the decade and it was all seriously good fun and was all down by 5pm - ish. No moving record exists due to a faulty sd card but I t remains a testament to what you can do in a one-day workshop if nobody says no! - thats not possible!
