Initially, it had a button closure, integrated scarf and blanket stitching. However, I find that since I changed it a bit, I wear it SO MUCH MORE and it fits me better too! My new project is finally complete! I wanted a black harrington jacket with a boxy cropped silhouette and I couldn’t find one that was right, so I thought, why not make one? I used end-of-roll 100% cotton twill that I decided to embroider with a wheat motive. I added a @lampozippers1887 zip that was SO WORTH splurging a bit more on! It just looks so luxurious and high-end! I added welt pockets to the front and have lined it with 100% cupro. I am so happy with the result! The embroidery took AGES though. As many of you know, I am all about prolonging the life of everything I have in my wardrobe and trainers are no exception! While I do think that @converse Chuck 70s suit a bit of a dirty look, everything is good in moderation 😂 Here is my little routine on how to get them to look more clean and polished even if they are a few years old! I will eventually have to replace them as I can see small areas of deterioration but for now, I’ll continue wearing them with joy. Little tip: I found that cream based toothpaste works a bit better! As someone who prefers natural fibers, I always try and opt for 100% cotton (preferably organic) when it comes to garments that touch my skin. However, when it comes to my undergarments, I have found that ones with 5% elastane help not just with a more appealing fit, but a better longevity also. Having had both pure cotton vests and elastane blend ones, I have found that the former do not retain their shape as well with frequent washing (since vests touch skin directly and are worn mostly during warmer months, I wash them after each wear). Synthetic fibers and blends are ultimately unsustainable, but since elastane blend garments in my case need less frequent replacing, they are a winner for me in this case! I never was a polo enthusiast because I thought they age me a lot but in this case I just couldn’t pass up! My dad had this D&G polo for years and can no longer wear it due to sizing so…why waste it?
