OTW by Vans has worked with Vans Skate Team rider Beatrice Domond for the launch of the Mary Jane DS by Beatrice Domond. Inspired by Beatrice’s Haitian heritage and growing up in Miami - the silhouette blends timeless design with elevated crafstmanship. The Mary Jane DS by Beatrice Domond is crafted with a premium leather, suede upper, goatskin linings, and a statement outsole.
The details are deeply personal: a digitally printed map of Haiti on the sockliner pays homage to Beatrice’s family roots, while custom packaging nods to vintage Vans skate boxes, adorned with her signature and logo.
The campaign film, directed by Sandy Kim with Beatrice and Z Inwoon as co-directors, offers an intimate look at Beatrice’s story. Set in her hometown of Miami, the film captures a heartfelt dialogue with her grandmother Elise in both Haitian Creole and English, exploring Beatrice’s journey, family ties, and the perseverance that shaped her career.
“For this project, I wanted to show my community another side of me,” says Beatrice. “This shoe is a tribute to my grandma and mother—without them, I wouldn’t have these amazing opportunities.”
Launching December 19, 2024 on otw.vans.com.
