Quite a wild ride this one. On the surface a book about how a seismic event in a family affects the lives of three (grown up) siblings, but also a not very thinly veiled critique of the hyper wealthy. How money can insulate and detach you from reality, but can’t help you outrun who you are. Similarly being devoutly religious. The first third of the book is a white knuckle ride that the rest of the book doesn’t quite live up to, but a good read nonetheless the less.

Enjoyable coming of age tale with a malevolent underbelly. Solid page turner, but nothing mind blowing.

Mixed feelings about this one. Interesting plot and themes, some good characters, and some great writing, but didn’t quite hang together for me. Felt like several short story ideas smashed together haphazardly. Parts greater than the sum.
