Kurrajong Flowers, terra-cotta and cement from a home being rebuilt nearby.

We felt as though the storms were tracking us. We made it to our hotel outside of Osage Nation 20 minutes before the storms began to rain down. I suppose I’d describe large storms in the Midwest as electric. Before tornados, the sky turns a seemingly unnatural shade of green, everyone you meet is in a rush to get home and hunker down, then you make it home, eyes glued to the TV waiting.

Morning 1. Mom surveys her land, looking at new growth and damage from the cattle that live there in the summer. 2. Wild roses blooming in the fence line. 3. Tracks from our four wheelers. 4. Once mature and dry the tumbleweed detaches from its root or stem and rolls due to the force of the wind.
