Unwound at Union Transfer last night. Still can’t believe I got to see this band. I think I first found @therealunwound through a Lastfm dive in college, then found albums off blogspot media fire links and was blown away. I then bought almost all the boxed sets from @thenumerogroup as they came out (think I still the need Kid Is Gone). Sad I didn’t get to see them with Vern, but I’m very grateful that they’re still playing. Everything sounded just as good as the records. Many many thanks to my friend @matt_ebert for hooking me up with a photo pass (also thank you @groundcontroltouring ). One of my favorite bands, Land of Talk at Johnny Brenda’s last night. Been very lucky to have seen this band 3 times now since they’ve reunited/started touring again. The first time I heard Some Are Lakes I couldn’t believe how good that album was. The first time I saw Land Of Talk was at boot and saddle in 2017. I couldn’t believe I was finally going to see them. Every time they’ve been incredible. I also saw Liz Powell post something about Fugazi being the reason they play an SG. Hell yeah. Reposting these after this morning now that I’ve had a little more time to try to mess with these colors. The Softies at Philamoca 10/03/24. Wild to see the Softies and not even have to leave town for it. I got into them of course through my good friend Brad, when he burnt me a CDR of Jangly twee and indie pop bands when I was 16. Can’t believe I saw The Softies and Heavenly in the same year! Thankful for some of the better days in July. If you’ve known me for a while you know I love documenting things whether it’s people I’m fortunate enough to call friends and sometimes bands. This past week made me extra glad I take a lot of photos of my friends because sometimes it ends up being the last time you see them. Even though it was briefly, I’m really glad I knew you, Becca. Wish we were seeing Joe Pera this fall like we talked about the last time we hung out.

Snooper at Johnny Brenda’s, 7/17/24. Been excited for this show. They were one of the most fun sets I’ve seen in a while. Honestly surprised I got any clear shots with no flash, considering how much energy this band has. Their bass player was right next to me on the balcony.
