Our final guest for Three Phase ➰ VLADA From the fertile ground of classical piano training and a father bent on collecting jazz comes Vlada, a Russian-born DJ with inimitable taste. Vlada started searching for records as a teen, resulting in a musical ecology that explores rarely heard slices of laid back techno, electro and churning psychedelia. Her dance floor sound is perambulating and rhythmic, with cryptic melodies slipped between the kick. Sometimes you’ll find a melancholic synth, or quite reliably, a dark and elastic bassline that hypnotizes each dancer to perform their staunchest jig. Now based in Berlin, Vlada devotes her time to party @spel_l_ , playing the cream of the festival circuit (Waking Life/Dekmantel/Houghton/Dimensions to name a few) and soundtracking the clubs we dream of. We feel very lucky to have Vlada with us on 29.12.24 for a sublime education on the distant corners of dance music 🌀

Weaving his clarified sound through iconic parties & spaces including Breakfast Club, De School or Laak, you’re likely to witness a skillful expedition through tech-house, breaks, techno and progressive moments. Between these metered rhythms lies a pared back and molten sultriness…YuBu is a totally rarefied selector. A pair that need no introduction for those versed in Boorloo-born electronic music; Senate is a project spawned by Reece Walker (@r.a.n.d.muzik_recordings boss, now firmly grounded in Leipzig) and Alex Campbell (prolific through his @consulate_ alias, currently based in Naarm after trodding the transnullabor migration route). Pounding bass overlayed with industrial distortions and metallic breaks could transport you to a post-apocalyptic production line, but instead we find rhythmic reprieve…laconic naughtiness…time to dance!! It’s been five years since Senate showed us what’s good on home turf, and by all reports their last display had the throng stomping til early morning. It’s difficult to distill in to words how a night on the dancefloor with @hicham_.___ feels. Carefully navigating the spaces between the ethereal and eccentric…joyful, dirty, expansive! We couldn’t feel more *blessed* that he made his way to Perth to share this special music with us. To the dancers, thank you for making this night (+ morning) a true pleasure! It fills us with joy to see you unleash your freak and bounce like your life depended on it, while also treating those around you with absolute sweetness. A huge shoutout to the @system.perth crew for passing on such a playful space, and an extra special mention to @ta_affable for not only warming us all up with true style, but also sharing his deep generosity + knowledge. 19.10.24–> HICHAM (FRANCE) Circuit Central is thrilled to bring Hicham and his indelible sound to a warehouse near you, supported by none other than the nucleus of the Perth scene, Ben Taaffe. Hicham is a tireless and obsessed digger who has cultivated his idiosyncratic talent in the global scene, after first falling in love with raves in Brussels. He is known to paint vast synaesthetic vistas of 80s and 90s analog influences- this leaves dancers with no choice but to be totally captivated and seduced by Hicham’s sound. On October 19th, we are sure he will shepherd us through a dynamic narrative as we gradually slip into the lucid dream that is a set from Hicham. United in sonic masonry, Circuit Central is celebrating @jesseeleejohns latest project: Prestige Bricks. Jessee is the anomaly that has built temples, post offices, a commonwealth and resorts. In another feat of his ingenuity, he has built Prestige Bricks. A humble brick store tucked behind Old Customs House. Join us in the laneway from 18:00 on Saturday the 29th of June. $20 entry on the door, very limited space. Our first craftsperson: Toni Yotzi. Last seen in town at The Bird for a crushing b2b with DJ Fart in the Club. What will she prime our ears with next…Tech house? Breakbeat? Jungle? We’ll see what the Dawn Sports boss has in store for us, fresh from the shores of Bali. But Boorloo is pretty cold right now, so we trust two masons of the local scene will warm things up quite nicely; Lia T & Basic Mind. The beers are cheap ($6!), the DJs are right and you can sm*ke on the dancefloor... deduct that $20 from the Euro Summer Fund and we’ll see you on the floor at Prestige Bricks.
