I am super excited to be sharing another new song today! A few years ago my buddy TJ @seewhoknows showed me a one-hit wonder from the 70s called “Sad Eyes” by Robert John, saying he thought it kinda sounded like me. I checked it out and thought, “Wow, what a song!” Fast forward a couple years to TJ’s birthday—after a quick message to wish him well, he hit me back with “We need to record that Sad Eyes cover.” A few hours later he asked, “How fast can you learn it?” and invited me to @mylifeinadvertising’s studio that night. We got to work on this track, which eventually led to us recording “Love You Inside Out” as well. Moral of the story: Always wish your friends happy birthday.
