Performing Gender Workshop with @mireiaperezrodriguez @perfocraze_international August 2023 Performing in front of my "disappearing" wall installation. I will eventually write my thoughts on the wall installation and the unique nature of disappearance. I chose to work with the wall installation because both works are part of the greater picture of my practice as an artivist focused on archiving stories.

August 2023 - Performing Gender Workshop 📍@perfocraze_international Facilitator: @mireiaperezrodriguez This workshop exposed me to Performance Art as a practice and what goes into it. For someone who has enjoyed performances in the past, understanding what goes into it made me realise things were not as simple as I thought they were. My respect for performance artists is through the roof now. Testing limits and bounds of gender expectations and identity narratives allowed us to appreciate and query perspectives within our social context in Ghana. All the world indeed is a stage; We are all performers.

Performing Gender Workshop by @mireiaperezrodriguez at @perfocraze_international 2023 After exploring my art as a writer and seeing it going beyond pages onto surfaces bigger and larger, understanding performance art and how I could also delve into it as a form of expression became necessary. The residential workshop opened my eyes to knowledge necessary for any multidisciplinary artist who considered performance as key to their practice.
