This project means a good bit to me. Have been told that Seattle is a tough place to make it happen creatively, but I have yet to let that change the vision. We put together our first full production in January with a team of 15 from our area. Most of the team had never met, some have never worked on set, and others mentioned being very nervous going into it. My favorite part was afterwards hearing about how excited people were to be a part of it and how great the group was. I do not know what the future looks like, but I do know that it will be filled with moments like these with great people, doing fun projects, and creating opportunities.

(There are a handful of people not included in this video because screen recording FaceTimes blows!)

Two years ago I left Pullman dreaming about running a media agency. The past 5 months have shown that it is happening. It takes a team though.

We just completed 60 sessions in the span of a week and a half. Jobs are beginning to flow frequently and I can see our path forming. 5 years from now we will look back and be blown away with what this started as and how far we have come. First, we have to get there.

Climb with your people and find others who are inspired to climb as well (we may be needing some more heads soon).

I am coming up on 10 years of adventuring with people and taking photos. 10 years of gradually believing more and more.

Shoutout @jesseotisconner for always capturing real moments.

What a year. Around this time last year, I was struggling to find my why. I have known for a while what I want to do, but I have been slower as to why I am doing what I am doing.

Winter forced me to find a side job to make ends meet. I began bartending almost full time, but only in the evenings 5-2am. This allowed me to continue to build Ventrait during the day. In March, I made Ventrait official. April and May I took on a large amount of photo work and discovered my absolute confidence in Ventrait. This was my first time mentally telling myself “yes, I am going to make this happen no matter what”. For a few months following April, I was editing by day and bartending by night. A good amount of those nights consisted of VERY little sleep.

I began my next step in June. Planning and building an Internship that would allow me to surround myself with more creative minded people, share my knowledge, and potentially find a teammate. I built a 3 month long Internship that would cover everything I had learned over the past 6 years of photography. I hosted an event to meet as many potentially interested people as possible and opened applications. 18 people applied and I met with every single person over two weeks. I made a selection of 6 people (at the time I felt that that was the amount of people I could effectively work with). I quickly learned that 6 to 1 is a lot. I spread myself thin, but made it happen. I experienced working with other people in my field for the first time and better understood what Ventrait had been missing. Just recently, I brought on my first official team member Shawn.

Although, I have known for a while - to build anything successfully requires more than one mind - I have been patient. Two minds can only be effective if they understand, compliment, critique, and meet in the end. I am fully confident that we have that now.

I have discovered that the connection creativity brings is unmatched. The purpose of Ventrait is to develop these connections internally and externally.

My focus now shifts from finding the next member to impacting. As a team, we will make this happen. 2022 we impact.

Happy 1 yr to my honey.

Jess has officially put up with my ass for a year. Rock on🤘🏼 Thankful to have spent the past year with such a sweet and goofy soul. I am lucky to have someone so supportive and understanding by my side no matter how hyper focused I can be on other things at times. Cheers to more memories ya goof!🤪💛

September 10th 7pm-9pm I am hosting my first @ventraitpictures event. There will be photo opportunities, a bar, music, and most importantly connections. We are looking to build more of a community. If you or any friends may be interested in attending this event head onto @ventraitpictures and rsvp through link in bio. I hope to see you there!
