More and more families depend on au pairs for affordable childcare, yet these migrant workers are underpaid and overworked.
Au pairs deserve to be able to care for themselves while taking care of others.

Care for our families over tax cuts for billionaires will always be the right choice for our economy & our country. Thank you @senwarren for asking the right question about what’s at stake in 2025’s tax bill.

What’s your care story? At drop off this morning, East skipped his way into the loving embrace of his childcare provider, nothing brings me more joy than the comfort of knowing that he enjoys where he spends his days while his parents do our best to give him a great life. East’s childcare providers are an extension of our family and I’m grateful to have partnered with the @domesticworkers and @namesforgood to express my gratitude. #CareCantWait

The new administration must prioritize care.
NDWA President @aijenp joined an important conversation with @axios health care reporter Maya Goldman on the subject:
“The two big pain points that I’ve heard from family caregivers around the country are the emotional stressors having to do with caregiving and then the financial stressors having to do with caregiving.”

The U.S. relies on immigrant labor, both in restaurant kitchens and private homes, without offering protection or fair wages to the people keeping our economy afloat.
In La Cocina, director Alonso Ruizpalacios takes us behind closed doors for what @hollywoodreporter
described as “an explosive account of immigrant restaurant workers chasing the American Dream.”
The entertainment industry has a responsibility to tell authentic stories that bring the experiences of immigrant workers out of the shadows and into the spotlight. Stay tuned for updates on where to watch @lacocinamovie!

The final hearing of the Senate Special Committee on Aging and Disability, chaired by Senator Bob Casey from PA, who is the Senate sponsor of the Better Care Better Jobs Act and so many bills that support dignity, care, and opportunity for older adults, people with disabilities, care workers and family caregivers.
The theme of the hearing was empowering people with disabilities to live, work, learn and thrive. I was honored to testify about the importance of investing in Medicaid, family caregivers and in direct care workers. And share my enormous gratitude for @senbobcasey, whose leadership on care in the Senate has improved millions of lives. I still don’t know how to process that he wont be returning to the Senate. He will be missed.
Thank you to @senwarren@senatorwarnock@senkirstengillibrand for your questions and continued commitment to this work, and to my fellow witnesses @erinwillmanforpa65, Mayor @neilmcdevitt, Lydia Brown, and Brent Orrell for the powerful testimonies. And to my team @caringacrossgen@domesticworkers for all the support.

Care worker shortages are happening nationwide because care workers can’t afford to take care of themselves. Care workers should be able to make ends meet when taking care of others. This is why we must invest in care.
