DJ Clent X DJ Corey “It’s the Law” now on all streaming platforms Pre-orders for the album up on Bandcamp Album release 1/26/2025 on @jukebouncewerk via @alphapup artwork @shireenhashemi “Truth Be Told” is the collaborative album by Chicago footwork pioneer DJ Clent and his son, DJ Corey. @djclent is a 30-year veteran DJ/producer and a platinum-selling recording artist, best known for his work on Dej Loaf’s 2015 hit “Back Up.” DJ Corey, hailed in his hometown of Chicago as “the youngest in charge,” has been an active producer, DJ, and dancer in the footwork community since the age of 9. Together, the legendary father-and-son duo present their official debut album via L.A.’s world-renowned Juke Bounce Werk imprint. This eight-track album offers a Chicago footwork, battle-certified glimpse into the formative history of the genre by two key figures who have shaped and continue to lead its movement. Truth Be Told is the sophomore post compilation series release on the JBW imprint, famously known for their JBDUBZ volumes, on which both Clent and Corey have appeared. DJ Corey’s track “Earthbound” was featured on JBDUBZ Vol. 9, which won DJ Mag’s Best Compilation Award in 2022. Beatdown House, DJ Clent’s prestigious record label and crew, was founded in 1998 in Chicago. It is the first and longest-running Juke and Footwork collective in history. Original members include RP Boo, DJ Rashad, DJ Roc, and T-Rell. Some of DJ Clent’s most notable work has appeared on Planet Mu’s groundbreaking compilations Bangs & Works Vol. 1 & 2, as well as his 2014 single “Hyper Feet.” @djcoreybdh , a member of his father’s legacy crew Beatdown House, is also one-half of NuLegendz (alongside the late DJ Rashad’s son, DJ Chad). catch LA’s best kept secret weapon DJ Noir on the decks this Friday, a long anticipated addition to the KD roster:: tickets on RA via bio link ⚔️ When asked if she could be any chess piece, who would she be and why, Noir replied “I would definitely be the Queen because of my ability to move in any direction, which I relate to musically.” DJ Noir is a co- founder, DJ/producer and co-curator of the international artist collective @jukebouncewerk . A native of Los Angeles, Noir began cutting her teeth as a DJ in the late 90’s. She was inspired to transition from a dedicated dance floor raver to DJ upon seeing Kemistry & Storm on their first Us tour and pit stop in Los Angeles. Not only would that inspiration set her on a path to dedicate herself to mastering the decks, it would turn the wheels of bigger ideas leading to starting and running an international label and collective many years later. Upon meeting her partner, husband and co-founder Jae Drago in 2001, the foundational pieces of the JBW collective would come together a decade later through reconnecting with long time scene cohort and third co-founder, Sonic D, in April of 2013. By this time, the trio had been connected over a decade through a shared love for UK born and bred jungle/DnB. It was their discussion one night out, at a local DnB event about their mutual admiration for Chicago footwork pioneer, DJ Rashad that would change everything, showcasing their inspirations by hosting weekly events, mix series, international tours and various artist complications. In 2017, Noir began to expand beyond DJing and curating events to focusing on her own productions. In 2020, amidst a global pandemic, her production alias Phyliss Jason was born. Today, with over 20 years of involvement in nearly every aspect of underground music culture, Noir’s sound palate continues to evolve.
