Anya Taylor-Joy is ELLE Australia’s September cover star. We caught the actress and Dior ambassador during a brief period of downtime in her adopted hometown of Los Angeles. It was a rare lull in the aftermath of an epic year, which saw her star in two of 2024’s biggest blockbusters: Mad Max: Furiosa and Dune: Part 2.
Taylor-Joy, who has been on a wild ride of career-making roles for the last decade, spent her rare summer off hanging out with friends (read: attending Charli XCX’s birthday party, and Glastonbury with Cara Delevingne), and introducing a new member to the family she shares with husband Malcolm McRae: Bartok The Magnificent—a long haired chihuahua puppy, who makes his magazine debut in the pages of ELLE Australia.

“This is Bartok the Magnificent,” declares Anya Taylor-Joy as she sits down with editor @grceoneill for the ELLE Australia September cover interview. Bartok is a long-haired chihuahua puppy Taylor-Joy picked up two days ago—and she’s already smitten. “My husband and I were going to get a bigger dog, but our friend sent us a picture of [Bartok] and was like, ‘I just feel like this is your baby’.” Bartok must weigh less than a couple of kilos, but he’s as fearless as his owner—who this year became a Hollywood heavyweight with the starring role in Mad Max: Furisoa, and a much-hyped cameo in Dune Part Two. “He’s really, really brave. I continue to be afraid by how tiny he is, but he runs up to all the other dogs and just wants to play.”

Far from pretending she’s an all-natural girl next door who sleeps in her makeup, Bieber is just like the rest of us skincare-obsessives. She treats beauty like an extreme sport and loves to yap about her favourite products. And, while we have to wait for Rhode to become available in Australia, many of her favourite products are easily shoppable on our shores.

When beauty editor @angelalaw was planning her Sydney wedding to partner Steve, she had the benefit of having attended a ~lot~ of PR events. So she innately understood what it takes to create a great vibe, and lasting memories. 📸
A short, bow-adorned shift and a speak-easy style bar for the reception were just two of the ways this couple ensured their nuptials were thoroughly non-traditional, without losing any of the impact for guests.

Timothée Chalamet is back on the red carpet in ‘true rock & roll fashion’ for the premiere of the new Bob Dylan biopic, ‘A Complete Unknown’.
For the occasion, the actor turned to one of his go-to labels, Prada, who created a custom look as a subtle nod to Dylan.
