parkour was the first single from my album ❤️ this song was quintessential to starting a new era of my creativity & i thank @jamesblake a lot for his guidance with this record. driving around and seeing my billboards and posters up was a surreal thing to witness… i knew i was making a project that was truly special to me, and the world was about to find that out too

this song was the perfect choice for this particular moment, standing underneath my first billboard ❤️. this was a big milestone for me and my people    this song embodies a character [THE MANDEVILLAIN] who personifies a confidence even when it appears as if you are the bad guy & my pops was born and raised in mandeville jamaica, hence the name 🇯🇲         making this song truly gave me the ability to turn any doubt i have into power. and lets be real, i think we all could be better at standing on the values that mean the most to us 🕊️     ARMANI SUIT, LIT CIGAR BOTTEGA BOOT

around this time of year the recaps come out, and here’s mine ❤️ releasing my debut album & doing a 30+ city tour with my band, playing coachella, red rocks, scoring a movie, performing with a live band, having a billboard in los angeles, london & flatbush, being considered for the grammys, creating a video game, having a song in a video game soundtrack… i’m sure i am overlooking something but i am so eternally grateful to God for allowing me this time and trust in all of the individuals who listen to my story everyday. i rarely look back to hug myself because i’m always onto some next shit i have to do, but fuck it i’m doing it now i would be nothing without the unconditional love i receive from my family and from my supporters, and these numbers are just numbers but look at the growth we have made together! i walked for a long time with my head down for no reason, i know what it feels like to defeat yourself before you even get started. i’ve doubted myself so many times in the past battling the things that hurt me and stressed me out, but i’ve kept on this path even when it wasn’t the clearest to walk on. i am forever pushing independency and have always been doing this on my own for over 10+ years without a machine nor a cosign, and its proof that you can do it too without compromising your dream for anyone ⭐️ thank you all again for being there for the guy who wanted to do this shit since he was a little boy and hid it from everyone

i love storytelling because it gives you a chance to talk about something that has value to you—finding a way to make it compelling to someone else is a challenge i love to take on. i started writing this song in the airport, thinking back on the times i only dreamed of becoming an artist. thinking back on all the doubt and insecurity i faced, then turning that same story into something that can give someone strength. to make this song with the legendary George Clinton @yolikegeorge is an absolute honor & this song song always gives me the same feeling of pride every time i play it

i wrote this song to help anyone who has felt like their intuition has become their best friend—i’ve learned to always listen to the voice that tells me to listen when something feels right, or wrong. its easy to lose touch with that part of who we are, and this is just a reminder to pay attention ❤️

be thankful for this time of the year—as 2024 is coming to an end i’m reflecting to make sure i’m ready to take on whatever the next year has in store for me. i look back on this year with a lot of gratitude in my heart ❤️
