I graduated today!!! During my time at FIT, I faced numerous obstacles and triumphs to reach this point. As a first-generation college graduate, the journey wasn’t always easy. In 2021, after earning my associate’s degree, I switched to another competitive major, but things didn’t go well. I was in a toxic relationship that brought out the worst in me. I had to make a choice: start over, change majors, leave behind negative influences, and strive for a better future. When I was 19, I doubted I would make it through and had forgotten what happiness felt like. From tons amount of schoolwork, jobs and internships, it wasn’t easy but I made it through thanks to coffee and all-nighters. Doing makeup helped me through tough times and it was and still is like a best friend. I never knew that my artistic talent would be beneficial to doing makeup reels and photoshoots. Graduating today with a Bachelor of Science in Entrepreneurship is such a blessing. I’m overwhelmed with emotions, finally feeling true happiness and joy. I feel a great sense of accomplishment. Thank you to my mom! I’m truly grateful for her support, which helped me complete my college journey. She guided me through all the challenges and watched me grow into the young woman I am today. Thanks to my Dad and Dihna for their love, advice, and support. Thank you to my sister Melanie for giving me invaluable college advice. Shoutout to my family and friends who supported me through thick and thin. A special shoutout to my partner for encouraging me to persevere and showing me the true meaning of love, respect, and loyalty. And finally, thank you to God and to myself for making it through. I’m incredibly proud of myself! This is the end of a chapter, but the beginning of new possibilities and opportunities! Congratulations to my fellow graduates!🎉 P.S.
