'Posing is an ambiguous term, invariably suggesting a degree of masquerade. To pose is to affect an attitude or character, typically one contrary to one's usual self - as in 'putting on airs,' 'striking a pose', pretending to be what one is not' (Sontag, 2002, para. 6)

Radio Maria is a photographic documentation observing the bittersweet nature of identity formation. On one side, on the surface of the body, the sweet memories of summer holidays, the comforting sound of church bells and the familiar sensations of growth. On the other side, at the core, the rawness and naiveness of youth and the sour adaption to fixed social patterns, the imitation of adults, and the accommodation to cultural and religious conventions.
