“Sometimes I get to operate camera!” Wanna know how I get those crazy shots? I grab a camera and fly with it, with the help of some amazing stunt riggers of course. @aliciavelabailey@colinfollenweider thanks for trusting. #thelosersmovie #divergent

This was a fun and challenging sequence for #Avatar. Jim @jamescameronofficial wanted to have an exact replica of an Ikran- only it had to be soft so we didn’t hurt an actor. Legendary Stan Winston and his company made this for us. We first spent a half a day to try and figure out how we would puppeteer the “rubber chicken” as Jim called it then. It took us about two hours with Jim (Cameron) to workout the technique a Na’vi warrior used to mount and then create the bond. Yes, Jim wanted me to make the sounds an Ikran would make as well so somewhere is a track of me making my impersonation of a cross between a horse and pterodactyl. 😂
Shooting this took us the better part of a day. Sam (Worthington) was a good sport and I applaud him for having such a great imagination!

I can’t tell you how excited I am for this project. The story is more than the sum of its parts. Beyond the action, there is a heartfelt story that I felt a strong connection.and with these two amazing actors I can’t wait to bring it to life and show the world.

Giovanni and JT came to the Avatar stages and gave us a screening of @strangedarlingfilm . WE WERE ALL BLOWN AWAY! We all loved it and had nothing but praise after. Jim was especially impressed with how the storytelling was so inventive and fresh. Congrats to everyone involved. Oh… Jim actually told me to watch for @willafitz months before when he saw a movie called Desperation Road and was impressed by her performance.

His name is Jon Landau… He’s more than the producer and heart of Avatar, he’s a friend. I once talked to him about moving on to becoming a director and he told me a story, as he always does. The moral of the story was “don’t just take any project, find one that is great! Because if it isn’t great you will forever be mired in mediocrity.” One things for sure, he has never been mediocre, he’s a caring man that lit up a room as soon as he walks into it and has forever left his indelible mark on cinema. His favorite movie is “The Sting”. Well a small group of us spent the weekend watching it - again - and I can honestly say it is GREAT. Love you Jon. I’ll make sure to never be mediocre.
