One of my favorite shots from Warriors Cup’s main card captures the aftermath of the bout between Frantz Pierre and Ben Chang. The fight ended in dramatic fashion, with Pierre securing a TKO victory via elbow in the opening round. In this image, referee Chris Romulo escorts Chang back to his corner after he was unable to continue following the eight count, while Pierre crosses in front of them to celebrate ringside with the crowd.
The tension was palpable from the opening bell, with every moment feeling like one explosive strike from either fighter would end the fight. Congratulations to Frantz on an impressive win, and hats off to Ben for stepping into the ring. I can’t wait to see both of them back on the card in the 2025 season!

This sport ain’t for the weak.
During the co-main event between Amy Duke and Kate Clements, Clements sustained a cut that bled heavily for most of the fight. In this image, referee and former fighter Chris Romulo escorts Clements to the ringside doctors to assess whether the cut would hinder her ability to continue. Despite the setback, the Canadian athlete showed nothing but grit and heart throughout the five-round battle.
Ultimately, Duke would walk away the winner and new Warriors Cup North American Bantamweight champion.
Congrats to both women for for putting on one hell of a show—and for the little bit of dried blood I discovered in my hair afterward.

Here are selects from my media coverage on Dzmitry Varats and David Agbodji. Their October face-off set the stage for a fight that’s been building for weeks—if not months—behind the scenes. The five-round contest for the Warriors Cup Professional World Welterweight Title ended in shocking fashion, with Varats claiming victory by knockout.
A huge thank you to both fighters and their camps for allowing me to cover their journeys leading up to what will undoubtedly go down as one of the most unforgettable fights in the promotion’s history.

I’ll be honest—last night wasn’t easy. Leading up to the media coverage on this main event, I spent time connecting with both David and Dzmitry. What began as small exchanges grew into meaningful conversations and personal investments in their journeys. I spoke with their coaches, covered their camps, and became highly aware of the stakes. As skilled as they both are, I couldn’t ignore the thought that these two athletes might seriously hurt each other come fight night.
For every fight, there’s always a guaranteed winner and loser. What isn’t guaranteed, though, is their safety.
For a few moments, as the gravity of the situation hung in the deafening silence of a once-roaring stadium, I feared I was witnessing a life-changing event. I’m relieved to hear that David is on the mend. Still, I can’t shake the tinge of guilt that Dzmitry’s hard-fought victory feels overshadowed by the somber reality of how their anticipated matchup ended.
Out of respect for David, this perspective felt like the most honest way to capture the emotions surrounding the end of their bout.
Moments like this remind me of the fragile line fighters walk between success and sacrifice—and the responsibility we carry as witnesses to honor and reflect the weight of their journeys.

T-minus one week until the last show of the season. Here are some of my personal faves from shooting backstage and ringside during 2024. Chok Dee to the fighters and coaches who are slated to compete on the promotion’s 66th event next Friday.
A huge thanks to @warriorscup_3pp for such a wonderful year.

Being a photographer allows you to see many sides of people—not just capturing their likeness on film but helping them discover facets of themselves beyond what they know from their own reflection in the mirror.
Over the past two years, I’ve had the privilege of getting to know Ciarra, who many affectionately call “Cici.” Much of that time has been spent witnessing her growth in the final chapters of her youth. Now, as she steps into adulthood, I wanted to create a shoot where she could be seen as the force she is, but redefined in this new stage of her life. She remains the same determined athlete, with all the strength and ferocity she’s always embodied, but now bridging that universal transition we all make as we move forward alongside the steady march of time.
A heartfelt thank you to @__.ciarra.__@metromuaythai@southpaw_stitches and especially to Cici’s mom, Jamie, who has always wished for her daughter to soar as high as she dreams in life.
“The Big Picture”
The end of a fight can often feel chaotic, with cornermen and coaches rushing to capture snapshots and videos in anticipation of their fighter’s hand being raised. I tend to look for the moments that unfold after the dust settles. A fight isn’t just measured by the impacts witnessed round after round, but by the emotions that linger on the fighters’ faces afterward. Joy, relief, sadness—or sometimes a mix of all three and more—often emerge only after the official announcements are made.
My favorite post-fight moment from Warriors Cup’s October event was shared between Canadian fighter Beshar Farhan and his opponent’s coach, Aziz Nabih. Farhan stepped up in competition to face local professional fighter Walid Snoussi. While Farhan managed to knock Snoussi down with an overhand right in the closing seconds of the first round, the reach and relentless punishment of Snoussi’s long knees proved too much in the following four rounds, and Farhan ultimately fell short on the scorecards. Teary-eyed, Farhan was embraced by Aziz, who seemed to share words of gratitude and affirmation, their exchange kept private as Aziz held the fighter’s ear close. Soon after, Snoussi also took a moment to pay his respects with a similar embrace.
To me, this shot paints a vivid picture of the beauty and pain that exist within Muay Thai. While a bit of bad intentions are necessary to leave emotions aside come fight time, a celebration of pure sportsmanship often follows in a sport built on honor and gratitude.
Congrats again to Walid on a successful professional win, and a huge amount of respect to Beshar. Spirits up, chin down—hope to see you back stateside in the future.
