sights from this week/weekend that brought me a lot of joy

last night we fell in love with a little old man named leroy (and all of the amazing artists at fair street studios)

Thinking about all of the women in my life today. Past, present, and future. We all deserve better. Looking back at memories and rereading the beautiful words etched on paper by the most amazing women felt like the warm hug I needed today. Thank you for the happy birthdays, the get well soons, the thinking of yous, and all the inbetweens. The greatest love I have ever felt is the love of the women around me. I promise to fight for our rights everyday for as long as I live. One step at a time. With all my love and rage and blood, sweat, and tears, G

There is so much I could say about this experience. But right now, I just wanted to share a small piece of my story in case it’s a wake up call for anyone - people you know and care about are harmed by abortion bans. You may *think* it doesn’t have anything to do with you, but who you vote for today tells everyone whether or not you care about their freedom to decide what they do with their own bodies. someone very special and fabulous and angelic has a birthday today!!! she’s the kind of friend who always invites you to tag along to the hangout, who will go through her closet to find you something to complete your outfit, who will sit with you in your pain and celebrate your joy. she oozes kindness, she’s the life of the party, she is truly one of a kind. happy birthday, miss grace lyles. something about a bunch of adults (including the musicians and their crew) dressing up for halloween and singing and dancing at a concert made me tear up and I couldn’t stop smiling. life is worth living, or something! thank you @flipturnband for a great halloween, you’re always so stunning live and I appreciate your art, goofiness, the way you care for your audience, and the reminder to vote. can’t wait until next time!
