Almost all of last April I spent in Portland, Maine. I worked on a wonderful film (@hangdogmovie) and came away with a different perspective on working and photography. It was also bitterly cold.

From a recent road trip to Vegas with @clay_rasmussen and @mumagenc. Went out to do a fun, hectic gig with @paridukovic and @circadianpictures while sick as a dog and only shot this one roll on the SWC/M. Looks like the X-Ray got me too, lots of fogging.

The National Weather Service is reporting this is the least snowy winter on record for New York City. So far in the 2022-23 season, NYC has had 2.3 inches of snowfall, compared with 38.6 for 2020-21. These images are from Coney Island after a heavy storm a few seasons ago.

On November 8th, 2018, a faulty electrical substation started a wildfire that consumed the town of Paradise, California. Ninety-five percent of the town burned to the ground. @pete_k_muller and I interviewed and photographed residents and survivors in Paradise and the surrounding communities where many had relocated. Some left permanently while others were starting to sift through the ash and rust to find any single thing that went unscathed. The fire burned so hot and so quickly that it could exhaust itself, resulting in half melted cars and fences. The heat was so intense metals fused together, melting silverware and jewelry into unearthly lumps inside ruined safes. No part of the landscape or infrastructure escaped untouched. This was a humanitarian and ecological disaster.
