Ovaries. Talk About Them. by CAMILLA AND MARC The early detection project funded by Ovaries. Talk About Them. has taken monumental steps forward with the creation of a unique 3-target signature that detects tiny amounts of ovarian tumour-specific DNA across all major subtypes. Developed using advanced technology, we are taking even further action to ensure this test will be able to detect ovarian cancer at the crucial early stages. We are validating our test in larger numbers of samples and determining how best to bring this test to the clinic as soon as possible. Our progress in developing this test would not be possible without the unwavering support and generosity of the greater community. Ovaries. Talk About Them. 2024 by CAMILLA AND MARC There is still no early detection test for ovarian cancer even though it is the deadliest gynaecological cancer. Our partners @camillafreemantopper and @marcfreeman (founders of @camillaandmarc) have devotedly supported and funded our Ovarian Cancer Early Detection Project through “Ovaries. Talk About Them”. This mission is dedicated to changing the face of ovarian cancer, changing the fate of those affected, and changing the future for the generations to come. Together, the Gynaecological Cancer Research Group and CAMILLA AND MARC are committed to developing a test capable of detecting ovarian cancer at early stages, and improve the outcomes of those affected.

GCRG celebrations continue with Sumyukta taking home 1st place at EMBL (European Molecular Biology Laboratory) Australia’s 3-Minute Thesis Competition. With only 3 minutes on the clock, Sumyukta delivered a winning introduction to her PhD research. Her research focuses on developing 3D ‘mini-organ’ models for endometrial and ovarian cancers to better model disease and test drug efficacy. Congratulations Sumyukta, this is a massive achievement! Meet the newest member of our team, Brigitte Hodder 👋🏼 Brigitte is a research officer and registered nurse working closely with participants and supporters of GCRG research. Thanks to funding from @camillaandmarc and our donors, her role will support our growing research projects and biobanks pivotal to our work. Having worked in the fertility surgical space, she also has keen interests in public health, and endometriosis and its association with fertility.
