@ebonymagazine followed my beauty maintenance for Spelhouse Homecoming! I chatted with @tayleradigun_ about the ties between beauty maintenance, community, and, ultimately, a standard of excellence that HBCUs uphold even long after you graduate. However, the true beauty lies in coming home; however, you feel able to show up, knowing you will be embraced by the community you love and respect.

Auntie’s night out

Feeling pretty cool because I wore the original jacket from the 1985 screening to see The Color Purple remake premiere in theaters. And yes I was proud as hell at all the cute older ladies admiring it (two asked for a pic so if y’all see me on ya auntie Facebook send it to me! 🤣). The Color Purple is one of my favorite movies & this remake didn’t disappoint. Y’all go see all those Black Superstars 🤩 Merry Christmas!

Proud is understatement. @nanitheboss this moment is HUGE and I would be proud if a stranger was the first to design a @nike x @spelman_college sneaker. But it wasn’t, it was someone I know to be so special, so kind, and so creative. You’ll keep winning because your heart is so big, and I love having a front row seat! Thanks for including me in history. And special thanks to @trinnjusglo and the eboard at @spelmanscwhhc & @sixdegrees for all their hard work making this event a success.
