Yesterday @athena_lemanska invited me into her studio to paint. I can’t remember the last time I picked up a paintbrush or made something with my hands other than arranging clothes. There were no rules or suggestions, just go. So, with zero thoughts in my head upon being handed a blank canvas, I perused the array of acrylic paints on the table. Reds, burgundies, pinks, whites, browns— those were the colors I was resonating with. I started and after some time, she expressed how lovely it was. Encouragement. I then got to a place where I was scared to continue on for fear I’d ruin it. She told me that’s normal and that you have to absolve fear because you can always paint over it tomorrow. Fear stops us from trying. overcome and humbled by the love I’ve experienced lately

Freud’s study where he spent the last year of his life in London and the room he died in! This exact room was replicated after the family escaped Vienna during nazi Germany. There was an otherworldly, still feeling in there, like being in a vacuum or underwater. Imagine taking your therapy sessions in there!! Pretty insane that the public is allowed (thanks to Anna Freud his daughter). This is not a Freud fan club I swear.

I was lucky enough to fit in some time at this magical monastery remote in the Umbrian hills. From the thoughtfully prepared vegetarian SILENT dinners, penchant for solo travelers, secular prayer and yoga each morning, and naked forest bathing, I was able to squeeze every last minute of the time. In the FAQ it was encouraged to only bring the essentials and the hotel itself was very bare bones to include only necessities. Thank you Marcello (I know you’re probably not going to see this for a while due to the no cell phone policy haha).
