AUTUMN WINTER 2024/25 “Layered dyeing” NUANCE is a series of garments dyed using a technique of layered dyeing. Hand-dyed by one craftsman, garment-by-garment, in Narumi, Nagoya City, NUANCE is inspired by colors of the changing sky, transitioning in subtle gradients: the stillness of midnight, the soft glow of daybreak, the clear sky of the day, and dusk under the night’s veil. The complexity of the colors developed by the many layers of dyeing, and the soft texture that feels gentle on the skin, convey a close relationship with the wearer, as though time—in the form of color—develops over and permeates through the wearer’s body. 「重ね染め」 職人の手で「重ね染め」の技法が施されたNUANCEシリーズ。 深夜の静けさ、朝焼けの柔らかな光、透き通る空、そして夜の帳。NUANCEは、一日の空の移ろいを繊細なグラデーションで描き、名古屋市鳴海町の染工場にて職人が一着ずつ丹念に染め上げています。幾重にも重ねられた染料が生み出す奥深い色彩と、肌に溶け込むように馴染む柔らかな質感が、まるで時間そのものが色として身体に染み込んでいくような感覚をもたらします。 #isseymiyake
