Northern Ireland, 2023
Muddy roads wandered alone through bunk hiccups, lush greens and sleepy Éireanns. Stolen glances at the accordion man— Crimson coughs, Saoirse charms, Australians as fleeting shower tile allies.

This image felt too fitting not to share today, with the raw grief, anger, and deep frustration surging from the women around me in the wake of the election results.

Berlin, 2024
I spent part of the summer in Germany, suspended between longing for a dynamic that couldn’t be and the thrill of uncovering Berlin’s eclectic newness with friends.
My days were punctuated by observing quiet gestures around me. The city breathing deep into the night, every night. Trees and lakes cradling its edges. Sidewalk Späti gatherings where languages intertwined, echoing what I cherish most about Montreal. And throughout, I witnessed people I love, growing fonder of the kinship lore we’d nurtured in yet another corner of the world.

SoCal, 2024
In March, I journeyed down from San Francisco to Southern California to visit friends. Between winter sunset walks, dryer sheet handholding and nightcaps, I wandered through the echoes of Shakiba, Leo, Mark and Ricky’s earlier memories in Carlsbad. Then came Los Angeles, where I saw the city anew through Leo and Shakiba’s eyes. They’d recently chosen to call it home. — In witnessing the delicate dance of those I love navigating the uncertain space between what was and what’s yet to come, I found comfort in not knowing where I stood in that space myself.
