Hands up, don’t shoot. ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ Protest at Flatbush ave. exactly a week ago from today. ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ Lots of heated encounters with the cops, but a few officers stood out to me as they took the time to talk to the protesters. ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ Officer Walker (3rd slide): “I cried when I heard what happened in Minneapolis. We feel the same pain, we do not want to be here and we don’t deserve these uniforms.”⁣⁣ Unfortunately the conversation was cut short as his fellow officers started macing and pushing the protesters. He continued to stand between cops and protesters throughout the night. Doing what he could to prevent the violence. Hope he is doing well. ⁣ ⁣ Last slide (video) was police tear gassing people in the back as we started to march to draw us back and stay in the area. ⁣⁣ #blacklivesmatter #blm #georgefloyd #breonnataylor #nyc #brooklyn
