Description below: Scene from ‘The Walk’ @fidaa.z on her way to teach at the @thefreedomtheatre . The Freedom Theatre is a place of healing for the Palestinian youth and to channel decades of trauma and occupation into artistic expression and prevent generational violence. Its a place of cultural resistance, social change and ultimately a symbol of hope. Shooting this scene in 2022 I felt a glimmer of hope seeing Palestinian children rehearsing for their upcoming play. Late 2023, the IDF has raided and vandalized the freedom theatre and arrested its producer and director which caused it to temporarily close, preventing the Palestinians to access their safe space of creative freedom.
