| 📣 Call for Scores: Agrigento 2025 | Within the framework of Agrigento, Italian Capital of Culture 2025, Klangforum Wien and the Fondazione Agrigento 2025 are calling for scores focusing on the relation between sound, architecture and identity. Under the title 𝙉𝙚𝙬 𝙈𝙪𝙨𝙞𝙘 – 𝙉𝙚𝙬 𝙃𝙤𝙧𝙞𝙯𝙤𝙣𝙨, the open call addresses composers who were born or are currently living in a Mediterranean country, no matter for how long or of which nationality. 🎶 𝗛𝗼𝘄 𝘁𝗼 𝗽𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗶𝗽𝗮𝘁𝗲: - Every composer can submit 1 score - The piece should have a duration of 7 – 20 minutes - The piece can be either a premiere or a work that has already been performed ⏳ The deadline for submitting the scores is 24 January 2025. With a varied programme at three different venues, we will be bringing exceptional compositions to Salzburg: 🎶 At Kollegienkirche, we’ll kick off by performing Salvatore Sciarrino’s take on Shakespeare’s 𝘔𝘢𝘤𝘣𝘦𝘵𝘩 together with @cantandoadmont, followed by the late Peter Eötvös’ 𝘛𝘳𝘪 𝘚𝘦𝘴𝘵𝘳𝘪 at the Felsenreitschule, a long anticipated new staging of Anton Chekhov’s well-known play 𝘛𝘩𝘳𝘦𝘦 𝘚𝘪𝘴𝘵𝘦𝘳𝘴 (libretto by Claus H. Henneberg and Peter Eötvös himself).
