Never really got this one to work right. Too much detail in the coach. And a bunch of other things are wrong. Still fun to dig through old, failed paintings.

We’re moving. And I came across this little painting I did almost 5 years ago. It’s from a series I did about Patty Hearst. A time in our country of total unrest and upheaval. Something about it feels appropriate right now. The combination of sudden violence and subversion with the kind of serenity and stillness you find in a Giorgio Morandi. I think the next 4 years will be a good time to make art. In all its forms.
